This cabin is idyllically located on the shore of Fiplingvatn lake. It’s a good base for outdoor life in Børgefjell, summer and winter. There’s good hunting and fishing.
Details
The cabin was built in 1999. Two of its six bunks are on a loft.
Kvigtind, the highest peak in the Børgefjell massif, is a good climb. On the other side there’s Kappfjell mountain, which is an easy hike and offers a splendid view of Svenningdal and Børgefjell. There are caverns and other fascinating geological formations in the Fiplingdal area.
Driving directions
Turn off National road 73 at Trofors, toward Hattfjelldal, about 12 km. Turn off at the Fiplingdal crossing, and follow the road southward on the east side of the lake. Drive about 3 km past Børgfjell School. The cabin is on the right side of the road.
You also can turn off E6 at Bjortjønnli and follow the "Wilderness Road” (Villmarksveien) northward, and then turn right at the crossing at the lower end of Fiplingvatn lake and then drive northward on its east side. The cabin then is to the left, about 2.5 km from the crossing toward Simskaret. In winter the snow banks can be high and hard, so take along a steel snow shovel.
